Enjoying the phase!

what else can a person ask for?? NYC, an all expenses paid service apartment, a pay check...and to top it all - bench period (ie. no work)!!! - in ther words, a fully paid holiday in NYC!!! it's like a dream come true! So, here i am trying to enjoy every single day of this blissful period that looks like a once in a lifetime opportunity!

These days, i am waking up like a liberated soul ready to make the best of the day forward. How relaxing it is to be able to wake up without the 6AM alarm clock banging on my head!! There's no rush of gulping a quick breakfast, instead I am having not just a plain omellete but the one fully garnished with onions and tomatoes :) wow deliciously wonderous!! After having a heartful breakfast, and a full 1 hour catch up with mom in India..., i am ready to explore the next NY attractions on my list.

I ve managed to visit many of the places in NYC, and here are few of my observations:
  • it’s definitely true: this city never sleep.
  • if you walk around and don’t see more than 3 Starbucks cafés within 10 minutes, you must be outside New York already
  • nobody follows the traffic signals..and it sometimes get so confusing to cross the road!
  • 80% of the people are holding either a Macy or a Victoria secret shopping bag.
  • it's a wonder to have an enormous central park in the center of the city considering the NY real estate scenario
  • I love NYC t-shirts
  • New York City streets are simple to navigate. You can be here in one day and then know your way around quite fast.
  • The public transportation system is a bit hard to grasp...and takes time to get used to.
  • The skyline is a bit un-natural...especially in photographs, it looks like a cardboard painting in the backdrop
  • it's true: there's no culture at all which prominently stands out as "American Culture"...everyone on the street is a cultural element of the diaspora.
  • you can't miss having a baggel or a cheesecake
  • Port Authority station do not have Luggage trolleys ( i believe so ) :(

hmm, so what next....well, it's time to enjoy my NY evening siesta and then wake up to grab a couple of movies with a Hagen Dazs tub while preaparing for a full course dinner!
